Connecting people to books and each other

Paonia Literary Project

We’re building something a little different—a community bookstore and nonprofit working side by side to bring books, conversation, and connection to the North Fork Valley.

Our Mission

Through events, workshops, and book access programs, Paonia Literary Project connects people in the North Fork Valley to books and each other.

Since 2022, Paonia Books has been proud to serve Paonia and the North Fork Valley by connecting readers with books, authors, and each other. We think life is better with books and our robust community of readers, writers, artists, and thinkers agrees. That’s why we formed Paonia Literary Project. Through grants and fundraising dollars, the Project expands the terrific literary programming the bookstore offered from the beginning and creates access to books. The Project hosts author visits, book-themed gatherings, book give-aways, and literary workshops and performances. In bringing people together, the Paonia Literary Project cultivates wonder, curiosity, and connection for our North Fork Valley community.

Paonia Literary is a project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center. Our director is Emily Sinclair. Our progam and events coordinator is Taya Jae.

Our Paonia-based advisory board is Weezie Blanchard, Anjula Jalan, Kit Masaracchia and Carl Smith.
